How to maintain and service a civilian hard type hyperbaric chamber?

civilian hard type hyperbaric chamber

The concept of hyperbaric oxygen therapy originated in 1662 when British scientist Robert Boyle discovered the behavior of gases under pressure through experimentation. This laid the foundation for 19th-century scientists to explore the medical applications of HBOT therapy. In the 1840s, British physician John Scott Haldane conducted studies on the effects of hyperbaric oxygen on the human body. In the 1880s, German physician Alfred von Schrotter invented the first metal hyperbaric chamber, initially used to treat decompression sickness (also known as the bends) and other conditions related to pressure changes.

In the 1980s and 1990s, with advancements in medical technology, the rapid growth of the manufacturing industry, and a rising awareness of personal health, at home hyperbaric oxygen chamber gradually entered the market. Today, these chambers are widely used in clinics, wellness centers, schools, homes, and many other public and private settings.

Why does a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber require regular maintenance and servicing?

Whether it's a medical hyperbaric systems or home hbot machine, hyperbaric oxygen chambers require regular maintenance and servicing due to various factors such as safety, equipment performance, corrosion prevention, and wear and tear. The main reasons are as follows:

1. Safety: Hyperbaric oxygen chambers operate under high-pressure conditions, and any equipment malfunction may pose serious safety risks. Regular maintenance helps to identify and fix potential issues in a timely manner, ensuring the safe operation of the chamber.

2. Equipment Performance: Over time, the performance of the hyperbaric equipment may decline with regular use. Routine maintenance ensures that the hbot chamber operates at optimal efficiency, maintaining the effectiveness of the therapy.

3. Prevention of Corrosion and Wear: The unique environment inside a hyperbaric chamber can lead to corrosion or wear of internal components. Regular maintenance helps extend the lifespan of the hyperbaric capsule and reduces the frequency of part replacements.

4. Compliance with Standards: The use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers must adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations. Regular maintenance ensures that the equipment remains compliant, helping to avoid legal risks.

5. Improved Efficiency: Routine maintenance enhances the operational efficiency of the oxygen chamber, reducing the likelihood of downtime or malfunctions during use and ensuring uninterrupted hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions.

Safety and Comfort for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Users: For individuals undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy, regular maintenance of the chamber not only ensures equipment quality but also directly impacts user safety and comfort. Consistent servicing enhances the overall HBO therapy experience for users.

What should be considered during the regular maintenance and servicing of a hbot hard chamber?

Medical hyperbaric oxygen chambers are usually hard-shell chambers, and their maintenance is regularly performed by professionals at hospitals. In home hyperbaric chamber are mostly soft shell hyperbaric chamber or portable hyperbaric chambers. Macy Pan hyperbaric come in various types, mainly categorized as:

  •  Sitting hyperbaric chamber

  •  Lying Hyperbaric Chamber

  •  Hard Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

  •  Vertical Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

The maintenance is carried out by the buyers themselves. In addition to the chamber itself, home hyperbaric chamber is also equipped with integrated air compressor and oxygen concentrator system, air conditioning, and other components. Due to the higher pressure requirements, stronger materials, production cycle, and other parameters associated with hard shell hyperbaric chamber, buyers of these hard shell hbot chambers are more focused on the maintenance and servicing of the equipment. The world’s leading hyperbaric chamber factory - Macy-Pan Hyperbaric Chamber, provides guidance to customers on how to regularly maintain and service their purchased hard shell hyperbaric chamber for sale, covering aspects such as cleaning, change filters, water drainage, replace consumables, and more.

1. Cleaning: Please ensure the power is turned off before cleaning. Use a clean, soft, damp cloth with a small amount of neutral cleaner to wipe the chamber's exterior, excluding the door, as well as the surface of the integrated system and air conditioning. The door should be gently wiped with a clean, soft cloth dampened with a small amount of water, then dried with a dry towel. It is recommended to clean the chamber 1–2 times per month.
2. Air Conditioning: The air conditioning reservoir should be filled with distilled or purified water. It is recommended to change the water every 30 days, or sooner if the water becomes cloudy. If the equipment will not be used for a long period, empty the water tank and keep it dry and clean.
3. Water Drainage of the Bottle: It is recommended to check and empty the water collector weekly, with increased frequency of checks during the summer.
4. Consumables: The main consumables are the intake filter cartridge and activated carbon filter cloth. The intake filter cartridge should be cleaned every year (or after 1,000 hours of use) and replaced after 2,000 hours of use. If the environmental pollution is high, it is recommended to increase the cleaning and replacement frequency. The activated carbon filter cloth should be replaced every year (or after 1,000 hours of use).

How to maintain a hyperbaric chamber for home when not in use?

Regular maintenance and servicing of the hyperbaric chamber for home use ensures that everything is in place when using the chamber, but it cannot guarantee 100% risk-free operation.

hyperbaric chamber macy pan would like to once again remind everyone how to check the safety of the equipment before use:

1. Before each use, be sure to check whether the chamber door’s sealing strip is misaligned or shifted outward. If so, press it back into place. Additionally, check the valves monthly for any looseness or air leakage - if found, tighten them accordingly.

2.If the equipment has not been used for 30 consecutive days, run it for at least 30 minutes before resuming regular use.
Additionally, ensure that the power plug is fully and securely inserted into the outlet. Do not place heavy objects on the chamber or any of the attached equipment. If any unusual odor is detected during use, immediately turn off the power, unplug the device, and contact the nearest after-sales service center or the equipment provider.
